Summer ball is in full swing....

Our second summer program is underway and we are having a blast! All of our teams have been competing in local summer tournaments for the past three weeks. All teams have experienced variable levels of success. Most importantly we are working hard to improve and get better as a program, as teammates and as individuals.

We had a very successful 2 weeks of camps with over 130 total Rocky Mountain area kids attending three camps. Check out the pictures! We had a great time with the 3 - 5 Graders and feel they are ready to join the high school ranks soon. Our Middle School camp was a huge success and lots of fun as kids from Sawtooth and Heritage joined together to compete and improve on their overall individual skills. Finally, our high school camp involved all incoming Frosh players, Sophomores and Juniors. We will have a strong Freshman class and we look for great things from our returners.

The Varsity team has had a great summer so far. In the Centennial tournament we won 3 games and lost two, and were competitive in all of them. The BSU tournament was good, but we were not at our best. We recognized some areas for improvement and have been working hard to improve in those areas. This weekend we are engaged in the Idaho Summer Shootout. We finished second in our pool beating Rigby, Middleton, and losing by 2 points to a strong Twin Falls team.

In the championship bracket we lost to a good Highland team and won our second game over Minico by 20. The last weekend of June the Varsity team attended our first team camp at Gonzaga University in Spokane, Washington. We had a great time coming together as a team, getting to know each other and having fun. The competition we faced was very good as we played teams from all over the Northwest and Montana. We finished 5 - 7 overall and left with a better overall confidence in our potential and what we need to do to compete in the 5A SIC.

The JV team has been doing very well this summer. They got off to a slow start at the Centennial Tourney, but rallied for a 5 - 2 record at BSU. At the Idaho Summer Shootout they had an outstanding tournament finishing 5 - 2 and beating some good teams.

The Frosh/Sophs competed in the Borah Tournament and at the Capital High School tournament playing well and coming together for the upcoming season.

Parents: thank you for coming out and supporting our program and your kids. We appreciate your sportsmanship and conduct while in the stands watching your kids play.

Players: Open gym is currently going on Monday through Friday from 9:30am to noon. However, the gym will be closing on July 17 for the remainder of the summer. We will be starting up again when school begins.
